Please be aware that there are several PayPal scams out there being perpetrated against people who sign up for a PayPal account.. After you obtain the account to pay your RWSPEA dues, you may receive an email, supposedly from PayPal, requesting your username, password, and other confidential security items, in order for them to make certain that your account is working and in good order. They may also indicate that your account has supposedly been randomly flagged as part of PayPal's routine security measures to 'ensure that only you have access and use of your PayPal account and to ensure a safe PayPal experience.' Although the reply-to addresses may look legitimate, DO NOT REPLY TO THESE EMAILS NOR GIVE ANYONE YOUR USERNAMES, PASSWORDS OR OTHER SECURITY INFORMATION. The perpetrators will use the information to access your credit card accounts and deprive you of your funds. You can find more information regarding these scams at www.scambusters.org.
