I joined the Patrol in March of 1979 as a cadet in Wenatchee radio. I attended the 58th Basic Trooper Academy and in June 1980 was assigned to Hoquiam. In 1986 I transferred to Everett and then to Monroe. I was promoted to sergeant in 1988 and assigned to Zone 4, SE King County. In 1993 I transferred back to Everett working I-5. I transferred to Internal Affairs in Olympia until I was promoted to lieutenant in 1999.

I had three assignments as a lieutenant, Office of the Chief, Administrative Division and then the Traffic Investigation Division (TID) later called the Criminal Investigation Division (CID). I retired from the Office of Professional Services as a Captain. During my career I had the opportunity to be a driving and firearms instructor and a guest instructor at the Academy. I currently work as the Assistant Director of Investigations and the Washington Health Professional Services (WHPS) for the Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission (NCQAC) within the Washington State Department of Health.
In 1979 I was lucky enough to marry the love of my life, Sandra. We have three children and two grandchildren. We enjoy vacationing at our family cabin on Lake Chelan, SCUBA diving, flying, golfing, motorcycle riding, birding and in my spare time doing small construction projects. I find it an honor to serve as the 2nd VP with the RWSPEA. Thank you.
